Eye charity event to welcome Miss Cheshire
17.11.2009
By Alexa Kaczka

Miss Cheshire is to attend a Wacky Welly Walk to help raise the profile of eye charity Vision Support.

Catriona Cameron was made patron of the charity in May 2009 after she was diagnosed with Irlen Syndrome.

Having had the condition since she was born, it means she sees the printed page differently – keeping her from reading effectively, efficiently or even at all.

She will attend the walk – taking place at Cheshire Racecourse at 12:00 GMT on Sunday – as well as judging the wackiest wellies competition which will see the winner being presented a pair of hand-painted wellies donated by Welligogs.

Miss Cameron said: "I was lucky that I received the help and support I needed to diagnose my visual condition and to allow me to fulfil my educational potential."

Vision Support is a regional charity recognised as the leading provider of local support and services to people of all ages living with a vision impairment in Cheshire and north Wales.ADNFCR-1853-ID-19456734-ADNFCR
